Agricultural Practices
Seven Vermont 4-H’ers qualified to compete at the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships

Lisa Muzzey/UVM Extension 4-H) of Conservation Districts and local producers - created
an accessible, engaging, educational online course for
livestock farmers of all size operations and agricultural
service providers to learn about Vermont’s Required
Agricultural Practices. The RAP quiz is full of
interesting photos, videos, and fun facts, and provides
information about water quality improvement practices
available to Vermont farmers. And, producers can earn
two hours of Water Quality Training Credits online from
home! You can find the RAP quiz at http://www.vacd.
org/rapquiz.
Deputy Secretary Alyson Eastman attended the
National Association for State Departments of
Agriculture’s (NASDA) Winter Policy meeting in
Washington, DC at the end of February. Discussions
included the 2018 Farm Bill, Hemp, Cell Based Meat,
WOTUS, Broadband, Marketing and Trade options
for agriculture. Staff from FDA, EPA and USDA
were present along with industry representatives and
agriculture staff from each state.
